Ashura, also known as Yawm Ashura is the tenth day of Muharram. For Muslims Ashura marks the day that Moses and the children of Israel were saved from Pharaoh by God creating a path in the Sea.

The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, ‘The best fasting after Ramadan is the Sacred Month of Allah Muharram…’
(Muslim)

The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The best fast after Ramadan is in the month of Allah Muharram.”
Narrated by Muslim

"The year is twelve months of which four are sacred, the three consecutive months of Dhul-Qa'dah, Dhul-Hijjah and Muharram, and Rajab Mudar which comes between Jumadah and Sha'ban."
Reported by Al-Bukhari.

Alhamdulillah 1443 Hijri New Year is start. Muharram is the first month of Hijri Calendar and one of the sacred month. Hijri Calendar finished with sacred month Dhul Hijja and start with sacred month Muharram. Muharram is a virtuous month and also full of historical events .
